Question:
Has anyone here consulted with or had work done by Dr. Richard Clark in Sacramento ? I have a consultation with him coming up in April and would love to hear from others!
Answer:
Hi Camillenoir,
Its me Koo. You know I had a consultation with Dr. C and it was the best consultation I have had, (he's was my 3rd.) he is very skilled and from the 's I saw he does beautiful work.
I was wondering if you are having your consult in April? This is May, so you mean next April?
I ask cause this is the second time I have seen you write April....
I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn't me messed up LOL
It usually is....
Anyway I am glad you posted the question about Dr. Clark.
I am pretty sure I am going to have him do my surgery in Dec. I haven't set anything up yet. I want to consult with him one more time to make sure.
He showed me what my new would look like on the computer but it was only a side view. I asked him about how the front would look and he didn't really answer me, so I need to make sure that my front view will be what I want. I don't care about the profile so much. I have a turned up nose and its the front that I hate. Why do s not show the front view when doing the computer ?
Has anyone else had a doctor just show the side view and not the front.
Also Camillenoir have you consulted with anyone else in this area?
I live out side of Chico, its takes me 2 hours to get to Dr. Clark. But if he's good it will be worth it.
Talk with you later...

Hello again, sorry about the mix up! I meant in July, boy, that's embarassing, lol Dr. Clark will be my first consult, he seems to be the best from what I've heard and is pretty close, I am in Manteca! Do you know of any other surgeons who specialize in plasty around the same area? I only want work done to my tip and nostrils (I don't care much about my profile either, though there is a small bump), so hopefully he will show the computer from the front, or at least similar s in s! What are you planning on having done to your nose? Also, did his before and after pictures look pretty subtle? I'm afraid of too much cartilage being taken out and collapse
Answer:
Ok so your having your consult in July... That fits better then the April thing...LOL
Dr. Clark was an ENT before he was a , so he understands the mechanics of the not just making it look right.
With this in mid I would hope that we would be better protected from some of the issues of breathing ( collapse) that I am reading here. ( I have read all the posts about problems and think, should I do this ??)
I would like to have my nose made bigger, it is very small for my face.
Dr. Clark suggested adding this bone material that he has designed and been using for 2 years.( I am a little iffy on that, I gotta talk to him some more on that) I am going to ask about just tip work.
So anyway he will add this bone stuff and move the tip down a bit. In the computer image it looked good and it was a very subtle change. In fact its so subtle that I am wondering why I am doing this.
I do believe that the issue of taking out too much cartilage from your nose is something he would not do. He is mindful of how the new nose will age. At least in my consult he was. There is just no way to be sure any of these s are what you think they are until they work on you. I am out here like the rest of you trying to figure out who will do the best work and have the ethics that he should have.
There is a rhino specialist named Dr. Gruber, he has been called the "king of rhinoplasty" by one of the other docs I consulted with. Dr. Gruber will send patients that live closer to Dr. Clark to Dr. Clark. So this guy trusts Dr. Clarks work.
Anyway here is Dr. Gruber's web site,
Dr. Gruber will do a phone consult if you ask. I was going to do this but then I found out Dr. Gruber sometimes sends patients to Dr. Clark if they live closer to him. The little contact I did have with this office was very positive, the web site is nice. But we all know this is not a way to choose the doctor....
I went to my ENT doctor in my home town to have the inside of my nose looked at, just to make sure the inside was "up" for
plastic surgery. Plus this gives me a record for any future snags I may run into. My ENT is awesome and he is so knowledgeable and I trust him. I have been going to him for years, (I always have ear issues, tubes and such..) He said everything looked great inside, he's not real supportive that I have ps, but he's just not big on that stuff.
So I know the inside is not deformed or anything, so if I am deformed or can't breathe after ps surgery I can show that I had no issue before hand and hopefully have revision work done with out changes or hassles... I just don't want to hear "It's nothing I did"
when I can't breathe after I have ps. We've all have heard this story all over this board...
Anyway my point with all this is maybe you should have a ENT look at you before your consult in July. Mention to him your concerned about collapse and have the inner workings of your nose examined.
I definitely want to hear about your consult in July!
So keep in touch...
Thanks Koo
and oh, I 'll try to write more next time... LOL

Hi camillenoir- you sent me a private e-mail, and on my old e-mail address I cannot reply to e-mails (I've since changed e-mails).You asked about my tip/nostril revision. Yes, this is all I had done. No bump on the bridge, just wanted the "ball" at the end thinned out, and nostrils not so wide. I get my cast off tomorrow so I really cannot tell you the final result yet! I know he made incisions under each nostril and on the between nostrils (open ) and there's all kinds of stitches on the inside (I looked with a flashlight and magnifying mirror). I can breathe out of both nostrils, one better than the other, and can smell things and taste food, but the breathing is about 65% of what it was pre-op. Kinda like when you are getting over a cold...you are sorta stuff up still but can breathe. I expect this will improve over time. HOPEFULLY!!
