Question:
Just curious- thought it would be nice to have a buddy to chat to about similar pains (ie the organ symphonies- 'my back', 'my head'-oy) while I will be at my mom's for 2 weeks.
I am having tumescent on abdomen with hips with implant removal and smaller silicone replacement with open capsulectomy (where they remove the tissue that encapsulates the old implant- for those of you who were like me and didn't know what that meant before I needed one!)
Good luck to everyone out there who is having surgery this week!

Sounds great jamaicanruby & queens! Wish I was getting mine done sooner!
Are you guys sticking to any special diet before surgery? I have been indulging a little too much(pizza and cookies), but I am going to try and be very 'clean' as far as food options for the next couple of weeks since I've heard it helps with healing. High , low sodium and lots of veggies. Luckily I have a surplus of protein shake powder that has been collecting cobwebs as of late, so I will probably be putting them to use during recovery!
Also- are any of you ordering the kit on the website? I've been thinking about it (esp since I will not be able to get a steroid/cortizone injection to help with swelling)...
the next couple of weeks will hopefully fly by!
Answer:
No, no special diet... other than the bunch of s that my PS recommended... it's a bunch, really... I eat normally pretty healthy so I didn't change anything in my diet. Did not order the kit. I purchased , which my PS recommended over the /... don't know if it's good.. just trying to follow dr's orders! I'm excited!!!!

Answer:
My schedule on Sept 3rd,I've been thinking about this since a month ago!!!I'm not too nervous rite now, well, maybe a bit,but I'm not worried about how pain it would be,I just hope the result is what I expect.
Answer:
Hey there. I'm scheduled for & some (following Left side mastectomy for ) tomorrow morning and these boards have been a lifesaver. I've been through tons of surgery before, but for some reason I'm really nervous about this. The anesthesiologist called yesterday and told me to be prepared as it would feel like I was 'beaten with a baseball bat'! Then he went on to tell me that I should break my Percocet into 4 pieces and count on using Tylenol to get through the pain. Yipes. I have a high drug tolerance so 1/4 of a Percocet is like a baby aspirin to me. Anyway, love the encouraging words from everyone and I hope to report a successful outcome as so many of you have. Thanks, everyone!

Having revisions to hip & inner thighs on the 31st and hope it's much easier than the first time!
Answer:
Bebop: I'm also schedule for on the 31st. We'll have to keep in touch to compare our progress. It's my first time... outer/inner thighs and possibly flanks. Good luck!
Answer:
Hi JR (hope it's ok to shorten your name)
Good luck to you, too! Last time, I didn't get on the computer for several days after. It hurt too much to sit in the chair, and then I would start swelling. Added bonus: my pain pills made me see double so I couldn't read what I was typing (trying a different kind this time).
Make sure you read all of the after-care tips. I didn't find this site until after my surgery and wish to heck that I had known about the stuff that nobody mentions - I had no idea that I'd be riding the commode reverse-cowboy for a week and that I should have a funnel handy!!
I went for the whole package in April: chin, u/l abs, flanks, i/o thighs & knees. Between 4200-4400 came out. I didn't realize that much was in there...
The revisions I'm getting include: reshaping hips (still have a "violin" shape going on b/c the top of my hips are puffy towards my backside) & inner thighs above knee area. My knees & upper thighs look GREAT, but I have slight "bumps" on each side above my new knees. Sad that that's the only place my thighs touch now...ha! I call them my funky knee humps.
I hoped I wouldn't need to go through this again, and that if I did, it would be after 6 months (and when it was cold outside - stupid !). My PS, who has been in town with a solo practice for almost 20 years and is wonderful, recently accepted a offer to join a practice in near his family. Of course - my luck.
Anyway, overall, I have a great result, but ended up with those areas that really bothered me. I hadn't been pushy about revisions since I'm just 4 1/2 mos. and I was hoping some of it was still swelling.
My PS offered to waive his fee (fabulous!) and fix everything here before he leaves OR once he's settled in the new practice in Fla. I decided to go ahead and get it done now since I can't do a surgical va-cay any time soon - got to pay off that CapitolOne PS loan before the interest kicks in!
Answer:
I like JR actually!
I'm soooooooo excited, can't wait.... 5 days to go now. I've read so much on those site... it's like a hobby now. I almost wonder what I will be doing after.... Good luck to you. I hope that no more revisions are needed after that.
