has anyone heard of

Question: has anyone heard of Spinal Aid centers of America? I saw an ad today advertising a treatment called spinal decompression. It is supposed to treat bulging disc, herniation, sciatica, stenosis, degenerative discs, arthritis or facet syndrome. no surgery no drugs or needles.

They have a web site, they are suppose to be nation wide. Just opened in my town. It sounds good but something doesn't seem right. They don't take insurance, but treatment is by a doctor?

Answer:
I have never heard of it but I would assume that it is probably one of those mechanical contraptions that works like traction and pulls the legs in one direction and the upper body in the other so that there is room for the disc material to get back to where it belongs. I have not done this myself and am only assuming that is what it is. If you were thinking about doing it I would check with your Dr before hand. You may do more harm then good. But finding out information is never a bad thing. The more you know the better a decision you can make for yourself. But I would definitly talk with your Dr who is treating you for your spine before undertaking any sort of treatment for your back.

Answer:
The web site says it involves wearing a brace and orthodics in your shoes....plus diet. Don't think I'd try it. I have enough excitement in my life already....

Answer:
I don't plan on trying it. I am keeping my appointment with my PM doctor on Tuesday. It is just that the ad looks so good. and promises the world. My husband brought me the ad. I know he was just trying to help. He hears me saying I am hurting all the time. I used to do so much, now I am always asking for help to lift and carry things. The thing that sent up a red flag for my is they claim you are checked by a doctor but they are not part of any health insurance network.

Answer:
if it promised the world and claims to treat everything, I would stay far far away. some of those "treatments" can cause irrepairable damage.. you might want to bring the add into your doc and ask him (her) what they think of it.
