Going to back out I guess!!!!!!!

Question: I know it's not for everyone, but I had my surgery done in Mexico by a **wonderful** PS. I don't regret it for a second and it was 1/3 the cost of what it would have been here. I'm going back in Aug for a thigh and arm lift

What about your aftercare though.

It really is not the money of the PS it is the extra for the facility. I dont want to take away any procedures. I realize recovery will be tough.

Somethingforme

She had hers done in and lots of procedures like mine. At least 7000.00 cheaper. AN excellent . Very reputable.

I stayed at a nearby resort for a week in Mexico and the drs came to my room to check up on me. I have taken s and emailed them to the dr so he could see how I was doing, and we stay in close contact via phone and email. I could fly back if I needed to, and the cost would still be much, much lower than having it done here.

A person has to do what they are comfortable with, but for me this was perfect.

How nice that turned out so well for you. Especially all the gore stories we hear about out of country surgeries.

I have a new consultation set up but it is 3hours away. I almost didnt. But the PS was reccomended on the board. I checked the credentials. he has his own facility.

I think I am making a good decision and feel better about canceling my surgery.

Answer:
Hey champjr.
You are getting some good advise here.
First off, my TT, MR, Inner / outter and hips came in at about $20k too. I love my PS he did a killer job and I think that I got what I paid for. Im not saying that if I paid less I wouldn't have got the results I wanted BUT the important thing is to be comfortable with your PS. Mine is very well known here in AZ and world wide. Go with your gut for sure but DONT let fear take hold of you. The worst moment for me was the night before! Now that I look back I wish I knew what I know now. Breezy! Hang in there and perhaps talk to yoru PS about postponment.

Answer:
yes I have canceled my procedure and am going on another consultation. This one is 3 hours away . Referred by someone on the board. I checked on him. VEry admirable honors and his facility sounds wonderful. Free consultation. Just told my surgeons office an emergency came up and I must postpone my surgery till later. That still leaves the door open.

Well here I go on another adventure. Was suppose to go to my preop and all of it is cancelled. Oh well I will feel confident when I am done.

Answer:
You did what your heart knew was right for you. Best of luck to you in your venture. Keep us posted so we can give advise in the future on this if it comes up.
Best to you!

Answer:
$20,000 seems way high, especially since you live in the Midwest. If you lived in or LA then maybe I could see it being more expensive but $20K seems steep even for the coasts. I'm glad you're getting another consult. I had plenty of doubts before my surgery as well. I was a nervous wreck some days. But that is all completely normal and part of the deal. I think people who aren't nervous at all are in the minority! Good luck!

Answer:
Well I very envious of everyone who has had thiers done and are or already done with recovery. I am so anxious I think if I didnt talk through It I wouldnt have made another consultation.

May 2 is my consultation.

I guess I am allowed to be envious it is only human.

I worked out hard this morning trying to take my mind off the delay of my surgery. I should be able to move throught this consultation easy cuz I know what I want and all. I just want to feeel comfortable andconfident on my PS.

Answer:
I don't know where you live, but I am in NY and my TT was $10,843 which included overnight stay, anesthesia, ...everything, even the revision to my dog ears. I want a BL, which would be about $8,500, if I add a BA to that it could go as high at $16,000. I had not , but I didn't need any. It was in my contract that if he went in and found I needed it, it would be included in the $10K, but as it turned out I didn't.

Prices vary across the country. Some websites give you an idea of the costs, but they all the that CA and NY can be double those. So there you have it.

My feeling is I didn't do this b/c I didn't like me, I did this b/c I like me that much, that I feel the next 30 years of my life was worth $10K at least. And now I am adding $8K for the BL.

It is really up to the individual who also needs to evaluate their own financial situation.

Answer:
Yes I feel my body is worth every bit of money I spend. But I think I should of went to other consultations. And this will only make me more confident. If it does not turn out I will go back and reschedule my surgery only with more confidence about my choices.

So I will know soon.
Eager although because I caused delay. But I know it is for the best.

Answer:
Dont feel bad or guilty. You will do it when you are ready.

Till then... just research, research....

Answer:
umm....
forget the costs and such about the procedures and why its being done...

the sheer fact that you are having someone cut into your body is reason enough to have more than one opinion!!

it's funny how if a dr says surgery is NEEDED....there are no hesitations to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion...

so why would you go with the first opinion on an elective surgery????

I had 3 consults prior to scheduling surgery.

Answer:
Champjr, I think you made the best choice, something told you that this was not right, so you have to believe that you made the right choice. You will never know what could have happened. You might be meeting a dr. that you will feel so much more comfortable with that does a better job, or you will confirm in your mind that you made the right choice in the first place, but you will feel better knowing for sure. I saw about 5 different ps's until my gut feeling said this is it!! It will just be a short amount of time!! Good luck to you!
